Toyosi Awesu

Toyosi comes from Nigeria (West Africa). He moved to Canada in 2001 to complete his studies. He loves his new country. He is married to Beatrice and they have two beautiful children.


He pursued his undergraduate studies at Emmanuel Bible College in Kitchener and his graduate studies at McMaster Divinity College.  He enjoys reading and playing piano. He also loves to help people connect with God and grow in their relationship with him.

Associate Pastor

Emily Vandonk

Emily is responsible for pastoral care, prayer and healing ministry at The Journey. Her role also includes discipleship, teaching and some preaching. She also oversees administration, communication and finances. 


  • Her passion is to live in this truth and help others live in it too: God is always GOOD & I am always LOVED!

  • Her heart is to disciple and equip the body of Christ to bring healing, health and wholeness to the hurting and sick in this world.  She has a desire to see people experience the fullness of what Christ has done for them.

Emily has been with The Journey team since 2012. Before coming to The Journey,  Emily was involved in healing ministry, around the world. This involved leading & teaching at YWAM Discipleship Training Schools, caring for AIDS babies in Brazil, church planting in the jungle of Guyana, S.A., speaking/preaching at healing meetings and conferences at various churches around the world and praying for physical, emotional and spiritual healing.
