MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN KW
June 1, 2010
|
This past January, The Journey celebrated the 5th anniversary of our official launch as a church. It was a great time to reflect on the many ways God has been good to us! Over these initial years as an emerging ministry, God has given us the privilege of making a difference in the lives of many in our city. By God's grace, The Journey has become known as a church that truly serves and loves our city and that warmly welcomes, embraces and equips people to be released back into ministry.
In the middle of this exciting journey, we are also going through a transition in leadership. Starting July 1, 2010, our Senior Pastor, Adrian Van Giessen was led to accept a call to transition his part-time role as the Regional Team leader for Christian Reformed Home Missions and serve in this role full-time. In this capacity, Adrian will be able to take his passion for transformational Christianity to encourage leaders throughout Ontario and across Eastern Canada. We're pleased and excited to announce that Andrew Zantingh, has accepted a call from our leadership team and will officially start as our new Senior Pastor in September 2010!

HELPING BRING RELIEF TO HAITI
January 30, 2010

On January 24 we had a special collection for Haiti Disaster Relief. People generously contributed over $6,000.00 towards helping meet the needs resulting from the earthquake in Haiti. This money will be matched by the Canadian Government doubling our contribution to over $12,000.00.
Thank you for your participation in making a difference for the people of Haiti! Pray that God will use these resources to touch many lives.

EXPANDING THE ENGLISH CONVERSATION CIRCLE PROGRAM
May 5, 2009
|
Several weeks ago we expanded our weekly English Conversation Circle program to include a second evening. New Canadians now have a chance to practice their English speaking skills on Monday and Wednesday nights while working with volunteers from The Journey. God has given us a passion to serve newcomers to our city and we're thankful that our new location makes us more accessible. We're blessed by fresh perspectives as we meet new friends from all over the world.
