Our Sunday services are inspirational and a great chance for you to find out about God in a large group setting. But if you want to learn more and find friendships that will help and encourage you in your spiritual journey, we encourage you to check out a Small Group at THE JOURNEY.
Benefits of participating in a Small Group:
In our fast-paced world, it's not always easy finding a place to belong. Although the desire to connect with others is strong, we don't always know where to find authentic community. Small Groups at THE JOURNEY are one way to connect with others. We invite you to discover an intimate circle of friends who are willing to share the ups and downs of life.
KINDS OF GROUPS
Welcome Groups are small groups intended for those newer to The Journey or new to the whole experience of checking out Christianity. Check out the CURRENT GROUPS page for more information about these groups
Grow Groups are small groups intended for those who've been around the Journey for awhile and who have a desire to grow deeper in their relationship to Jesus. We have a variety of these kinds of groups including AFFIINITY GROUPS, STUDY GROUPS, and ACCOUNTABILITY GROUPS. Check out the CURRENT GROUPS page for more information about these groups.
Loving our City Teams are small group opportunities to link in with a group of people at The Journey as we partner with other organizations in the city to help make Kitchener/Waterloo a more grace filled, healthy place for everyone to live. Check out the CURRENT GROUPS page for more information about these groups.
We have a variety of groups for different kinds of growth opportunities, but you can be sure that in each group you will:
· develop lasting friendships,
· share life experiences,
· encourage each other through life's challenges,
· have fun,
· experience authentic community.
When and where do our groups meet?
The members of each group decide on the day and place where they will meet. Generally, each group meets once per week in people's homes, workplaces or at our Ministry Centre. Some of our 'Loving our City' Teams meet less often and focus on serving together as a team.

OUR VISION FOR SMALLGROUPS
Dozens of Community Groups are meeting all over K-W. All of them are places of authentic, caring community where people can seek to experience God together, support each other in all of life’s ups and downs and become people who demonstrate God’s love and make a positive impact in their world. These groups are resulting in people committing their lives to God for the first time but they are also helping each participant grow in their own unique relationship with God.
Core Values of Small Groups at The Journey
Community: We believe people learn and grow best in relationship to others. We will strive to walk together in our groups, speaking truth in love and holding each other accountable as we strive to live healthy, transforming lives.
Prayer: Because God is the one who brings transformation and healthy life change to us, we believe prayer is essential to life change and since adult ministries are all about that, we strive to pray every day for everyone in our groups.
Journey: We recognize that each person is on a unique journey with God and we strive to be able to provide an environment where everyone can take a step closer to God no matter where their starting point is.
Authenticity: For small groups to be places where God works, leaders and participants must commit to being authentic about their own faith life and personal life: by doing so they allow others to begin to be authentic as well and this leads to growth and learning for all.
Service: Each small group will strive to include a service component into their group. This helps to remind us of how much we have been given and turns our hearts to others outside of our community.
